Biography

Dmitry Lissitzky swarmed on November 27, 1974, in the village of Burlatskoye, Blagodarnensky district, Stavropol Territory, Russia.

Graduated from high school.

In 1991 he entered the Stavropol Agricultural Institute with a degree in zootechnics.

In February 1993 he was drafted into the armed forces of the Russian Federation.

He served in the 247th Guards Airborne Assault Caucasian Cossack Regiment of the 7th Guards Airborne Assault Division (mountain), stationed in Stavropol.

After the end of his term of service on conscription, he remained on a re-enlistment.

During his service, he took part in military operations in Abkhazia (1993), Dagestan (1999), and Chechnya (1999-2000).

In 1998, he graduated from the Stavropol State Agricultural Academy with honors in absentia, having received the specialty of zoo engineer and marketing engineer.

In 2014, he participated in security operations for the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Sochi.

By Putin’s decree of January 22, 2015, Lissitzky was awarded the title of Hero of the Russian Federation.

On March 26, 2023, the acting rector of the Stavropol State Agrarian University, Vladimir Sitnikov, announced that Dmitry Lissitzky died in battle in Ukraine, where on February 24, 2022, on the orders of Putin, Russian invaders invaded on a full scale.

“A tragic message came from the front line. A graduate of our university, commander of the 2nd Airborne Assault Battalion of the 247th Guards Special Caucasian Cossack Airborne Assault Regiment, Hero of Russia Dmitry Mikhailovich Lissitzky, died in battle, ”Sitnikov wrote.

“He was a man of great courage, honor, and dignity. He knew what it was like to be a real man and person, to love the Motherland, to remain in the ranks until victory! Just a month ago, Dmitry Mikhailovich took part in patriotic events at the university and talked with students. The whole team and I personally mourn this loss! For our university, Dmitry Mikhailovich was a true friend, assistant, and colleague! We share the bitterness of loss with relatives and friends of the hero. The memory of his exploits will live on in our hearts,” Sitnikov added.
