Daniil Olexandrovych Lyashuk is a military, public activist, and musician from Ukraine with the call signs Mujahid, and Deni Vendetti.

Biography

Daniil Lyashuk was born on November 1, 1995 in the city of Brest (Berestya), Belarus.

He went in for sports, in particular, martial arts.

At the age of 12, he became interested in RAP music and began recording his own tracks.

At the age of 14, he moved to Crimea, where he was educated as a sailor at the Sevastopol National Technical University.

After the annexation of Crimea in 2014, he decided to fight on the side of Ukraine and joined the ranks of a volunteer battalion operating in eastern Ukraine in the zone of the Joint Forces Operation (anti-terrorist operation).

On January 19, 2015, during the fighting in the area of ​​the village of Luganskaya, he was seriously wounded.

In the same 2015, Daniil Lyashuk was detained in a case against the Tornado battalion.

He was charged with a number of serious crimes, which he denies.

In an interview, Daniil Lyashuk stated that he did not know about the criminal motives of the former commander of the Tornado battalion Ruslan Onishchenko and his earnings on smuggling flows.

Mujahid refuted accusations from the head of the military prosecutor’s office that Lyashuk was alleged “the cruelest and dangerous fighter of the battalion”, calling them politically biased.

In June 2021, Daniil Lyashuk was released under the “Savchenko law”, according to which a day in a pre-trial detention center was counted as 2 days in prison.

Lyashuk on YouTube broadcasts said that he did not keep in touch with the former commander of the Tornado, Ruslan Onishchenko.

After the start of a full-scale war between Russia and Ukraine on February 24, 2022, Daniil Lyashuk again went to the front.

Defended Kyiv and the suburbs of Kyiv as a volunteer.

In the spring of 2022, he participated in the battles for Kharkiv.

In July 2022, he officially joined the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Was sent to protect the Mykolaiv region.

He carried out sabotage work on the territory of the occupied Kherson region.

On August 18, 2022, during the performance of a combat mission, he was seriously wounded for the second time.

He received shrapnel damage to the abdomen, lungs, and liver.

Despite this fact, together with his group, he captured two Russian invaders.

After a series of operations and rehabilitation, he again became part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

On April 1, 2023, a message appeared on Mujahid’s Telegram channel that he had died.

“Unfortunately, we are forced to announce the death of our friend, our brother, our loved one. You were born a hero, you died a hero. We will all remember you forever. We ask the authorities to confer the title of hero and confer citizenship posthumously to the hero who fought for Ukraine,” the message says, to which a photo of Mujahid is attached.

What follows is a post about the funeral.

“Information about the funeral, farewell, and so on will be written here on Daniel’s official channel and Instagram. Do not trust everyone who is promoting our grief, ”the post says.

On April 1, a post with a photo of Mujahid with a girl also appeared on the Instagram page.

“On the thirty-third of August, not next spring, we will meet. Within a missing address, on a day that is not in the month. I love. Always your manyunya,” the post says.

The news reports that Mujahid allegedly died on April 1, 2023, in the battles near Bakhmut, Donetsk region.

“I would like to see a time when, when asked what you did in your youth, these guys will answer their grandchildren: “We were Soldiers!” – said in a post by Mujahid, published on March 28, 2023. There in the picture, he is with the fighters in the dugout.
