On March 6, 2023, a video of the execution of a man in a Ukrainian military uniform was circulated on the social networks of Ukraine, as well as far beyond its borders.
The man in the video says the phrase “Glory to Ukraine!”, after which he is shot.
Former Prosecutor General of Ukraine Yuriy Lutsenko said on Facebook with reference to blogger Anton Kolumbet that the video shows a soldier with the call sign “Magnit”, a soldier of the 48th separate rifle battalion of the 72nd separate mechanized brigade named after Cherny Zaporizhzhia.
At the same time, as Ukrainian journalist Yulia Kiriyenko wrote on Facebook, citing correspondence with Magnit’s battalion commander, Magnit is alive, and, accordingly, he is not on the specified video.
The network also wrote that Evgeny Anatolievich Melnichuk is on the video.
However, Ukrainian journalist Yuriy Butusov denied this information.
“This is not Evgeny Melnichuk. They are not similar visually and the circumstances of the death are different, ”Butusov wrote on Facebook.
As of the evening of March 6, 2023, the name of the shot man who said “Glory to Ukraine!” is unknown.
