Biography
Galina Danilchenko was born on July 5, 1964.
She received her higher education at the Melitopol Institute of Agricultural Mechanization.
He is a member of the Opposition Bloc political party.
He also holds the post of director of the limited liability company Melitopol Plain Bearing Plant.
The place of residence indicated the village of Spasskoe, Melitopol district, Zaporizhzhia region.
In the VIII convocation of the Verkhovna Rada, Galina Danilchenko worked as an assistant to MP Yevgeny Balitsky.
In 2015, she was elected a deputy of the Melitopol City Council from the Opposition Bloc party, and she also became the secretary of the City Council.
In 2020, she again received a deputy mandate in the Melitopol City Council from the Opposition Bloc party.
How Galina Danilchenko betrayed Ukraine
On the evening of March 12, 2022, a video message from Galina Danilchenko appeared, where she announced herself as the acting mayor of Melitopol.
On February 24, 2022, as a result of the Russian invasion of the Melitopol airbase, Russian invaders launched a missile strike.
Then the airbase was attacked by Russian troops.
On the same day, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that “the enemy is trying to move towards Melitopol from the occupied Crimea.”
On February 26, 2022, Russian invaders entered Melitopol.
The complete occupation of the city took place on March 1, 2022.
According to Zelensky, on March 11, Russian invaders kidnapped Melitopol Mayor Ivan Fedorov.
On March 12, Galina Danilchenko declared herself “acting mayor” and stated that “a committee of people’s deputies is being created in the city, which will lead Melitopol.”
On March 13, 2022, the Melitopol City Council held an extraordinary session, where they appealed to the Prosecutor General of Ukraine with a call to start a pre-trial investigation into high treason and the creation of an occupation administration by representatives of the Opposition Bloc party.
Danilchenko called on the residents of Melitopol to “adjust to the new reality” and also “not to destabilize the situation and not to participate in extremist activities” – this is how she called the protests of local residents who come out with Ukrainian flags against the invaders.
