Netizens are looking for information about what happened to the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Valeriy Zaluzhnyi.
This is due to new statements by the founder of the Russian private military company Wagner (which, as part of the Russian occupation forces, is involved in attempts to capture the Ukrainian city of Bakhmut, Donetsk region, Ukraine) Yevgeny Prigozhin, which hints that Wagner could allegedly kill Zaluzhnyi.
“For obvious reasons, I now do not have comprehensive information about what is happening with Valery Fedorovich Zaluzhnyi. I can say one thing, that on May 10, 11, and 12, when he was in the reach of our guns, we carried out a number of “events”, how successful they are today is not clear, ”said the head of the Wagner PMC Prigogine.
At the same time, on May 20, 2023, Deputy Minister of Defense of Ukraine Anna Malyar denied the information about the death of Zaluzhnyi on television.
“Over the past two weeks, we have recorded three hostile fake news about the “death” of our commanders. In chronological order: Tantsyura, Syrsky, Zaluzhnyi. On the one hand, it is easy to check and refute. Actually, what was done, ”Malyar said.
“On the other hand, one must understand that Russians are prone to false starts and often employees of their information front give out information without receiving confirmation from the direct executors. Objectively, during the war, the enemy will be interested in destroying our military-political leadership. And the issue of their personal security is now of strategic importance,” she added.
