Biography
Svetlana Babaeva was born on June 24, 1972, in Moscow, Russia.
Graduated from the Faculty of Law of Moscow State University.
She worked in the Moscow News newspaper in the economics department, then in the Izvestia newspaper, and headed the politics department.
She was the head of the representative office of RIA Novosti in the UK.
After returning from London, she worked as deputy editor-in-chief at the Moscow News newspaper, then as editor-in-chief of the Profile magazine.
In 2008-2012 she was the editor-in-chief of the RIA Novosti bureau in the USA.
2012-2013 — Deputy Head of the United Editorial Board of Moscow News.
Worked in the presidential and government pools; main topics: Russian domestic and foreign policy, economics.
2013-2016 — editor-in-chief of the Internet portal Gazeta.ru.
Since November 2016, he has been an adviser to MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
