Andrei Nikolaevich Mordvichev – Lieutenant General of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Chief of Staff of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.

Biography

Andrei Mordvichev was born on January 14, 1976.

On April 19, 2011, with the rank of colonel, he was appointed commander of the 4th separate tank brigade.

In 2013-2014, Andrei Mordvichev became the commander of the 28th separate motorized rifle brigade of the Central Military District.

In 2017, he was the head of the Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk garrison, hosted the Victory Parade in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk as commander of the 68th Army Corps with the rank of major general.

In 2018, he was First Deputy Commander and Chief of Staff of the 41st Combined Arms Army of the Central Military District, commanded the Victory Parade in Novosibirsk.

He was chief of staff of the 41st Combined Arms Army.

On May 9, 2021, he was the commander of the parade in Volgograd, being the first deputy commander of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District.

Is it true Andrei Mordvichev died in Ukraine

On March 19, 2022, the Center for Strategic Communications and Information Security, established under the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine as one of the state mechanisms for countering disinformation, reported that Andrei Mordvichev was destroyed by the Ukrainian army.

On March 18, 2022, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich said at a briefing that the Chief of Staff of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation was eliminated as a result of a Ukrainian aviation strike on the airfield in Chornobayivka (Kherson region of Ukraine), where the Russians had a command post.

At the same time, Arestovich emphasized that the death of the chief of staff of the 8th Guards Combined Arms Army of the Southern Military District of the Russian Federation is preliminary information.

As of March 19, the Russian side has no official information about Andrei Mordvichev.

The authors of Mordvichev’s page on the Russian Wikipedia as of March 19 at the beginning of the article indicated only the general’s date of birth.

On March 28, 2022, Ruslan Leviev from the Conflict Intelligence Team commented on a video from the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, where Andrei Mordvichev hugs Kadyrov.

“Oh, General Mordvichev has risen! But if I were led to insult those commentators who kept saying “what are you lying, a swindler, what one general – at least 500 generals died” – how would I look now. It was not in vain that I kept repeating that we are ready to confirm only Sukhovetsky,” Leviev wrote on Twitter.
