“The defense of Bakhmut is fulfilling its military tasks. The offensive potential of the enemy has been significantly reduced, the enemy has suffered huge losses, and we have gained time for certain actions, which we can talk about later,” Malyar said.
According to her, from May 21, 2023, as of the morning of May 22, 2023, the situation in the Bakhmut direction has not changed significantly.
“The fighting continues. Our troops in Bakhmut control certain facilities and the private sector in the Airplane area, the deputy minister noted.
According to her, the enemy is conducting a cleansing operation in the areas of Bakhmut, which they have taken under control.
“The struggle continues for the dominant heights on the flanks – the north and south of the suburbs. Our fighters do not give the enemy the opportunity to gain a foothold there. The enemy is raising additional forces and means,” Maliar said.
