On May 6, 2022, the media reported that the Russian frigate Admiral Makarov was shot down near Zmeiny Island in the Black Sea.
In particular, the Odessa edition “Dumskaya” reported about the attack on the Russian frigate, but without specifying its name.
“The explosion followed by burning occurred on board the Russian frigate of project 11356P of the Burevestnik type, which is located near Zmeiny Island,” the newspaper wrote on the morning of May 6.
As it became known to Dumskaya, aviation of the Russian invaders appeared over the indicated area of the Black Sea.
“Rescue ships came out to help the ship from the temporarily occupied Crimea,” the newspaper writes.
“What caused the emergency situation among the invaders, as well as which of the three frigates of this type, which are part of the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, was damaged is not yet clear,” Dumskaya adds.
The publication notes that information about the explosion on the ship appeared on social networks on the evening of May 5.
“Today we received confirmation that such an incident really happened. The circumstances of the next failure of the Russian fleet are being investigated, ”writes Dumskaya.
At 12:04 on Friday, the publication reported that the ship was hit by the Ukrainian Neptune anti-ship missiles.
At 13:08, Dumskaya added that the satellite had detected a fire on a ship near Snake Island.
At 13:58, the Ukrainian operational command “South” did not confirm the information about the damage to the frigate of the Russian invaders near the Zmeiny Island.
At the same time, in the Ukrainian version of Wikipedia, on the page dedicated to the Admiral Makarov frigate, information appeared that on May 5, 2022, the ship was attacked and damaged.

Press Secretary of Russian President Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov was asked about the frigate at a briefing, RIA Novosti reports.
He replied that the Kremlin did not have information about the allegations of the Ukrainian media about the alleged strike on a Russian warship in the Black Sea.
