On February 21, 2023, Telegram channel 112 reported that Vidadi Mardanov had been shot dead.
“President of the NFC Grappling and MMA League Vidadi Mardanov was shot dead in Derbent,” the publication reported.
It is noted that Mardanov left the house on Gagarin Street at about 4 am to talk to someone.
“However, the conversation did not work. Opponents shot the athlete and fled. The police are looking for 27-year-old Timur Asadov and 23-year-old Abdumislim Murtazaliev.
