The Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine showed combat work of the Skynex anti-aircraft artillery complex from Rheinmetall.
This was reported by Clicker with a link to a video from the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, the video shows how the air defense shoots down 6 Russian attack drones of the “Shahed” type, with which Russia regularly attacks Ukraine.
“Skynex combat work. The Skynex anti-aircraft artillery complex from Rheinmetall in service with the Air Force shows impeccable results in destroying enemy attack UAVs. Thank you to our partners! More Skynex – more protection from Russian terrorism!” – commented the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Skynex is an anti-aircraft artillery complex developed and manufactured by Rheinmetall Air Defence. Skynex is a networked air defense system with an open architecture, the main armament of which is remotely controlled automated 35-mm Oerlikon Revolver Gun Mk3 anti-aircraft guns. These guns have an effective firing range of about 4,000 meters and are capable of hitting not only “traditional” air targets (such as aircraft and helicopters), but also drones, artillery shells, mortar shells and precision-guided munitions. The development of the system is ongoing: work is underway on new means of detection and integration of new weapons into the Skynex system.
The Skynex air defense system was presented in November 2021.
“Target shot down. Target shot down falls. Fire eleventh. There, target hit! Fire twelfth. Application. Target destroyed, target destroyed. Twelfth gun fire. Target destroyed,” the operators comment behind the scenes.
