128th Mountain Assault Brigade — what kind of coin did Jake Paul show?

American boxer, actor and video blogger Jake Paul at Wembley after the victory of Ukrainian boxer Oleksandr Usyk over Briton Daniel Dubois demonstrated the symbols of the 128th separate mountain assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The 128th Mountain Assault Brigade is a formation of the Ukrainian Ground Forces.

The full title of the brigade is 128th Mountain Assault Brigade “Zakarpattia”.

It is the second oldest serving formation of the UGF, being raised in 1922. It participated in the invasions of Hungary and Czechoslovakia by Soviet troops.

In 2022, with the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Roma from Transcarpathia fought as part of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade, including the Baron himself.

On May 6, 2022, the brigade was awarded the honorary distinction “For Courage and Bravery”.

September 2, 2022, a day of mourning in Transcarpathia for the 128th Brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

In October 2022, during the counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, panic began among the enemy. The Russians surrendered and fled from Ukrainian soil. The soldiers of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade liberated the Kherson region.

In November 2022, the fighters of the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade showed the consequences of the occupiers’ attacks in a front-line city.  After that, Russian media began actively spreading fakes about the 128th Mountain Assault Brigade. They even published a photo of a Ukrainian who died defending Ukraine in early spring.

Since early December, the brigade has been performing the task of maintaining defense in the Bakhmut direction in the area of the village of Yakovlivka – the city of Soledar – the village of Paraskoviyivka.

In early January 2023, the brigade returned to the Zaporizhia direction. During the summer offensive from June 7 to 19, 2023, the brigade liberated the villages of Lobkove and Pyatikhatki.

On the morning of November 3, 2023, the Russian Armed Forces launched an Iskander-M missile strike on an award ceremony for the brigade’s fighters in the frontline zone of the Zaporizhia region. At least 20 servicemen were killed, including the former head of the Khmelnytskyi regional RTCC, Volodymyr Vozny, and the deputy commander of the 128th brigade, Lieutenant Colonel Andriy Tarasenko. The Ministry of Defense has launched an internal investigation.
