On June 13, 2023, the mayor of Kryvyi Rig, Alexander Vilkul, announced that David Epelman and Ksenia Nykytska had died.

“David and Xenia. They were only 22 years old. The loving couple got married only last year. We celebrated our wedding anniversary on June 3…” Vilkul wrote on Facebook.

“Both teachers by education. The most peaceful profession on earth. Ksenia worked at the 108th gymnasium as a primary school teacher. The only child in the family,” he said.

“They also dreamed of children and made plans for the future. Today, a Russian missile took their lives. Eternal memory to them and all the dead. Enemy – no mercy! – summed up the mayor of Kryvyi Rig.
